Pitching Rules

Pitchers have a daily pitch max of 95 pitches. Pitchers will have required days of rest between pitching assignments as follows:

  • 1-20 pitches in a day has no required rest period

  • 21-35 pitches in a day requires one day of rest

  • 36-50 pitches in a day requires two days of rest

  • 51-65 pitches in a day requires three days of rest

  • 66-95 pitches in a day requires four days of rest

Pitch counts will be reported to Score Reporter as part of the post-game statistics. In the event the pitch count is reached during an at-bat, the pitcher may be allowed to finish pitching to the current batter. Penalty for non-compliance will be as follows:

  • For first time infractions, the coach will be warned.

  • For blatant or subsequent infractions, the following will be enforced:

    • If a non-compliant team wins the game, it will be recorded as a loss in league statistics to determine seeding for end of season local tournament.

    • If that team loses the game, it will be counted as two losses, for seeding purposes. (It will in effect negate one win).

Any violations of the pitching regulations shall be reported to the Babe Ruth League Vice President.
